CANYON CLASSIC

Come join us for the annual Canyon Classic Century bicycle ride starting in Patterson, CA on the 2nd.Sat. in June every year.

This valley and foothill ride began by the Modesto North Rotary club in 1991 as the Graffiti Century. The name was changed when the start and finish of the ride was moved to Patterson so the riders would have an opportunity to ride some challenging routes in the foothills of the San Joaquin Valley.

In 2010 The Rotary Clubs of Modesto Gateway and Modesto Sunrise joined Modesto North to help with the increase in the number of riders and to involve more people in this community event. The ride has grown in popularity over the past years.
The ride is open to all cyclists from the novice to the expert. We offer 5 routes starting at Creek side Middle School in Patterson and ending at Creek side Middle School in Patterson. For the riders that qre just begin

ning they can ride the 12.5 mile route. For the ridesr that wants to ride a short flat ride we offer a Quarter Century course through the valley floor. For the riders who wishes to have a few hills and a longer distance we offer a Metric Century ride through the foothills above Patterson. If you are in for a real challenge try the ride up to Lick Observatory on the top of Mt. Hamilton, this is approximately 90 miles round trip. When you arrive at the top you will receive “I Licked Lick?” commemorative pin. The granddaddy of them all the Century Route through the foothills to Livermore, Tracy, Grayson and back to Patterson.
